About The Position

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician B to join our team at Stennis Space Center, MS. In this role, you will work alongside technicians and quality assurance personnel to support the assembly, testing, and delivery of large rocket engines and components, with primary responsibility for rocket engine test preparation, testing, and post-test processing. You will have the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge of engine and component function and assembly, as well as pre- and post-test processing, functional testing, and inspections. You will also work with staff in related disciplines, including contractors and customers, to help ensure the successful assembly, testing, and delivery of L3Harris products.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, various measuring and testing devices, and experience with hand tools.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, instructions, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment such as high-pressure pneumatic, cryogenic and hydraulic systems, NDT equipment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift, etc.) in a safe manner.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% as required.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined areas.
  • Ability to learn and follow detailed processes associated with the operation and maintenance of large-scale rocket engine test facilities.
  • Ability to pass an eye exam and certifications such as confined spaced entry, respirator, lock out- tag out, cryogenic safety, process safety management, etc.
  • Willingness to work all shifts and weekends.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

  • Aerospace background with A&P license/military equivalent proficiency test.

  • Ability to operate computers and special software associated with graphical user interfaces.
