About The Position

In this position, you will join our Manufacturing Operations Organization within our Aeronautics Systems sector as a Manufacturing Technician 1 supporting our Iuka, MS site. We’re seeking a hands-on professional with exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and outstanding interpersonal skills. This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts). A shift - Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm B Shift - Mon-Thurs 5:30pm-4am C Shift - Fri-Sun 7am-7:30pm D Shift - Fri-Sun 7pm-7:30am

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Must successfully complete and pass the Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) Aerospace Fabrication & Assembly program within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need (prior to starting)
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance.
Must successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need
Ability to work any shift depending on business needs

Nice To Haves

Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance
Experience in aerospace manufacturing

Responsibilities

Read and understand blueprints
Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
Measures parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure
Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
