Responsibilities

  • Define and deploy global manufacturing strategies within Product Engineering System Management Teams (SMTs), ensuring alignment to enterprise priorities
  • Develop and mature new manufacturing technologies and concepts—including automation and up-integration components—to improve production efficiency, reduce Manufacturing Cost per Unit (MCPU), and deliver enterprise-wide impact across multiple programs.
  • Establish and govern Manufacturing Requirements (MRs) to support scalable and repeatable assembly processes
  • Lead development of quality-capable manufacturing systems, including robust processes architectures
  • Ensure alignment between new product technologies and existing manufacturing systems, layouts, and standards
  • Partner with Product Engineering (PE) to specify and implement KCDS and critical design requirements
  • Represent Manufacture Engineering (ME) in DFMEA development to ensure manufacturability and risk mitigation
  • Develop and maintain Level 1 PFMEA aligned to enterprise processes
  • Serve as a core member of global expert teams and GSSLT, providing manufacturing insight and direction
  • Author and maintain Statement of Requirements (SOR) Appendix E1 for global programs
  • Review and disposition MR deviation requests, ensuring adherence to GA strategies
  • Drive incorporation of lessons learned into global manufacturing standards and documentation
  • Support and coach PI (CME) teams in executing manufacturing strategies and ensuring compliance to defined ME requirements
  • Identify and implement improvements through ATW and advanced manufacturing initiatives
  • Provide technical direction on tooling, equipment, and assembly strategies
  • Benchmark competitive products and processes to inform future-state manufacturing solutions that keep GM at the forefront of GA production efficiency, deliver the lowest possible MCPU, and maintain and enhance the outstanding quality of General Motors vehicles.
