About The Position

The Manufacturing Team Member I is responsible for running production jobs on semi-automated equipment and performing light assembly, packaging, press operations, or other manual tasks. This position may be responsible for minor setup and troubleshooting depending on the equipment and the area the employee is responsible for. The role involves running production jobs on various types of semi-automated equipment and/or performing various types of light assembly, packaging, press operations, or other manual tasks by hand per written or verbal work instructions to produce quality parts while maintaining productivity standards. The team member will inspect product for quality throughout the production run using a variety of measuring tools such as go/no-go gauges and via visual inspection, record inspection findings, and write detailed downtime and other shift communications in a log book. They will read work orders and blueprints to identify appropriate specifications for machine setup and product quality as required, and review work orders to ensure bill of materials are accurate and all inventory transactions are performed correctly. The position also includes troubleshooting minor machine issues and communicating quality defects to the technical staff as required. The team member will report accurate counts of production parts, scrap, and labor hours by completing required paperwork and/or electronic entry. They will comply with established 6S standards and participate in various lean manufacturing activities to improve products, reduce waste, or learn new skills or operations. Cross-training by rotating to different machines and work areas is also part of the role, along with performing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills and perform visual quality inspections.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills may be required depending on the equipment and the area the employee is responsible for.
  • Ability to learn, problem-solve, and make decisions per work instructions and documents.
  • Ability to communicate and work as a team member.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed by the company is required.
