About The Position

Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company focused on rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world. We are seeking a Manufacturing Systems Specialist to become the internal authority for our Manufacturing Execution System (Manufacturo) and support the broader digital manufacturing ecosystem. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role aimed at enabling manufacturing operations through system support, workflow improvement, user training, configuration management, and process optimization. You will collaborate with technicians, engineering, quality, inventory, and supply chain teams to ensure Manufacturo is scalable, intuitive, and operationally effective as the company grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of MES or Manufacturing Systems experience.
  • Strong communication skills with people from diverse business areas.
  • Excellent ability to observe processes, ask questions, and discover root causes.
  • Passion for simplifying work, removing steps, eliminating confusion, and reducing clicks.
  • Comfortable with fast-changing manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of SQL Databases and Querying.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Manufacturo or similar MES (Tulip, Solumina, FactoryTalk, Plex etc.).
  • Aerospace or complex hardware experience.
  • Exposure with ERP systems (NetSuite, Odoo, Oracle, SAP etc.).
  • Motivated by solving operational challenges with practical, scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily Manufacturo (MNFRO) support across all teams, acting as the primary contact for how-to questions, clarifications, and issue resolution.
  • Observe user behavior and identify workarounds to understand system/process limitations.
  • Translate user intent into clear and correct MES workflows.
  • Actively support and partner with Engineering, Technicians, Inventory/Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
  • Manage users, roles, permissions, core configuration, and licenses within MNFRO.
  • Identify and resolve system misconfigurations that cause operational friction.
  • Ensure workflows are intuitive, standardized, and scalable across departments.
  • Review new features, assess operational impact, and test/validate new capabilities before production release.
  • Develop rollout plans for new features, identifying which groups will benefit most.
  • Publish internal release notes tailored to each team.
  • Create simple, visual guides and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all user groups.
  • Conduct short, focused training sessions for all user groups.
  • Build and maintain an internal knowledge base for system usage.
  • Drive adoption and standardization by improving Manufacturo's usability.
  • Train teams in advance of new releases to ensure smooth adoption.
  • Proactively identify and address repetitive pain points, confusing steps, or broken flows by observing real user behavior.
  • Assess whether issues are process, training, or configuration-related, or product limitations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to redesign workflows and reduce friction.
  • Validate improvements with users and iterate quickly.
  • Identify opportunities where new features can solve problems and educate users on existing capabilities.
  • Maintain a structured enhancement backlog based on observations.
  • Ensure high-quality, validated requests are submitted to the Manufacturo product team.
  • Grow understanding of how MES data flows to/from ERP (NetSuite) and PLM (Teamcenter).
  • Identify data flow mismatches and escalate them with clarity.
  • Participate in testing new integrations or workflow changes across systems.
  • Assist Digital Transformation in ensuring end-to-end consistency across the digital thread.
