About The Position

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will support and modify the deployment of manufacturing systems including MES, ERP, and MRP, ensuring reliability, data accuracy, and alignment with production workflows. This role involves leading system configuration, enhancements, upgrades, and new module deployments. The engineer will translate manufacturing process requirements into system logic, workflows, and data structures, and design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports to support decision-making across production, quality, supply chain, and leadership. Key responsibilities include analyzing manufacturing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, ensuring end-to-end data traceability, and partnering with various teams to improve processes using system-driven insights. The role also supports lean manufacturing initiatives, develops and maintains KPIs, supports integrations between various enterprise systems, and collaborates with IT and software teams on APIs and data pipelines. Additionally, the engineer will identify automation opportunities, create system documentation and training materials, provide user support, and support new product introductions and production scaling from a systems perspective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with MES, ERP, and/or MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with data analysis and dashboard creation.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience translating manufacturing processes into system and data requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with common MES or ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, Siemens, Rockwell, or similar).
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs, lean principles, and production planning concepts.
  • Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, VBA, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure end-to-end data traceability across manufacturing, inventory, quality, and planning systems.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to improve processes using system-driven insights.
  • Support lean manufacturing, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives through data and system automation.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs related to throughput, yield, WIP, schedule adherence, and material availability.
  • Support integrations between MES, ERP, MRP, PLM, and other enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and software teams on APIs, data pipelines, and system interoperability.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual data collection and reporting processes.
  • Create system documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide user support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for system-related issues.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and production scaling efforts from a systems perspective.
