Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Price Industries•Suwanee, GA

About The Position

Price Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer who bridges the gap between traditional manufacturing engineering and software development. This role is ideal for a manufacturing engineer with a passion and knack for coding and systems integration. You will serve as a key technical leader responsible for developing custom applications that enhance shop-floor operations and driving the successful implementation, customization, and support of key enterprise manufacturing systems across multiple plant locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of shop-floor operations, workflows, and production metrics.
  • Hands-on experience coding custom applications (e.g., Python, C#, Java, Web Stack, or relevant low-code/no-code platforms) tailored for operational or industrial use.
  • Working knowledge of key enterprise software platforms, including ERP, TMS, MES, and EAM (preferably multi-tenant SaaS/cloud platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)—from requirements gathering and solution design to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write formal software proposals and effectively bridge the gap between plant personnel and corporate development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Gather operational requirements, design, code, test, deploy, and support custom software applications and tools that streamline manufacturing floor operations and boost productivity.
  • Assist with the end-to-end implementation, integration, and continuous improvement of critical plant systems, including ERP, TMS, MES, and EAM.
  • Analyze gaps in off-the-shelf software; author detailed software proposals for required customizations and present them to the Corporate Development Team for approval.
  • Conduct rigorous testing on all custom-developed tools and approved corporate software customizations before deployment, and develop and deliver training programs to plant staff to ensure smooth user adoption.
  • Continuously monitor and review patch notes and release documentation for multi-tenant cloud-hosted systems; proactively prepare plant teams, systems, and processes for incoming software updates and feature changes.
  • Drive technology standardization and execute development and system implementation projects across multiple manufacturing plant locations.
