Requirements

  • Completion or equivalent of University, Community College or specialized courses up to 2 academic years.
  • 3-4 years Epicor CMS experience in information systems capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3-4 years IBM System administration and DB2 experience.
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • A proven background in successful project management.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software (i.e. MRP, ERP, EDI) and its many different components.
  • Strong working knowledge of automotive EDI, particularly as it pertains to GM, Chrysler, and Ford.
  • Ability to work closely and communicate with all groups within the company as well as with vendors and suppliers.
  • 1-2 years information systems experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot; analyse, and determine root cause of end user incidents.
  • Hands-on experience with installation and support of end user hardware, software.

  • Experience in administering, configuring, and using Matrix42 would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the on-going maintenance and support of all manufacturing systems’ hardware.
  • Follow and adhere to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards.
  • Abide by all plant health, safety and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze business practices and develop solutions to problems.
  • Works with users and/or customers to validate requirements and executes thorough functional test plans to ensure that ERP system changes are working properly, existing processes remain unaffected and the needs of the users are met.
  • Provides new and innovative alternative solutions to ERP system and application challenges.
  • Analyze complex business requirements and map business processes.
  • Develop wireframe and schematic diagrams to support customer requirements gathering and facilitate overall business process discovery.
  • Act as Service Desk support for user’s day to day problems and questions.
  • Drive improvements in Service Desk performance including, but not limited to, compliance with SLAs and reduction in mean time to resolution.
  • Manage the research, analysis, implementation, support, and troubleshooting of all manufacturing software including ERP/Azure Production, Logistics, Materials Management, Shipping/Receiving, Scheduling, EDI, Finance, Purchasing, Maintenance, etc.
  • Manage the design, installation and support of all shop floor data collection, product tracking and systems integration including radio frequency and bar-coding technologies.
  • Evaluate and installs patches and resolves server software related problems.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery Plan for application systems.
  • Remotely manage applications and systems within the plant and handle the installation and support of VDI terminals; PC’s, printers, peripherals; and mobile devices.
  • Assist in the management of system backups and recoveries on an AS400
  • Advise users on system configuration, provide training, troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform regular system maintenance.
  • Perform user audits.
  • Manage IBM I user security on an AS400.
  • Manage CMS users access.
  • Manage and troubleshoot all aspects of EDI.
  • Manage and troubleshoot all aspects for CMS including production manager.
  • Manage/design customer and supplier labels.
  • Work closely with employees at all levels to determine the requirements of their departments and the organization, ensuring that all project plans are adhered to.
  • Time management skills to complete multiple tasks to deadlines.
  • Ability to escalate issues through the proper channels.
  • Closes service desk tickets and PM tasks on time.
  • Help train and support users on new applications, changes, and upgrades for ERP and Shopfloor.
  • Handle the administration/set up of network accounts following departmental procedures and security protocols.
  • Advanced ability to operate Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Focus on continuous development and improvement for all plant systems, hardware, and software.
  • Understand escalation path to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead a 3L5Y task group.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Keeps users informed on open issues or changes.
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team.
  • Willingly takes the lead on projects.
  • Participate in and facilitate departmental cross training on a day-to-day basis to provide the best possible support and protection of Presstran’s operations by fostering a learning environment of sharing knowledge with fellow team members.
