About The Position

The Manufacturing Support Engineer II will be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to help improve the day-to-day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering. This position will need to use resources to identify manufacturing problems, understand root causes, develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained. This position will also bring structure to unclear problems, challenge existing methods, influence change, and drive teams from problem identification through execution and follow-up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or associate's degree with 5+ years of technical work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to be hands-on and ready to delve into projects to accomplish company’s strategic goals
  • Experience working with manufacturing and assembly processes; wood industry experience preferred
  • Accepts responsibility, holds himself/herself accountable for performance
  • Self-starter, who takes the initiative and possesses a strong work ethic
  • Creative problem solver, visionary, solutions-focused
  • High aptitude in learning new technology, systems, processes

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for manufacturing problems requiring deeper process analysis and technical problem solving after initial Production or Maintenance response.
  • Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing.
  • Attend and contribute to the regular plant Gemba walks with Leadership Team
  • Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas
  • Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas
  • Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams
  • Other duties as assigned
