About The Position

This internship program focuses on Supply Chain Management within a fast-paced plant environment. Interns will contribute to GM's 'Look Ahead' culture by developing strategic perspectives and establishing goals. The role involves problem-solving, utilizing innovation and creativity to drive results, and developing interpersonal skills such as prioritizing, balancing multiple projects, and meeting goals.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or Business/Management.
  • Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Must be willing to work in a plant environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skill ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in field of study, extracurricular activities or service organizations.
  • Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.).
  • Exposure to logistics, packaging or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and databases.
  • Knowledge of materials management.
  • Experience with interpreting market data.
  • Exposure to reading blueprints and understanding basic engineering documents.
  • Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust.
