About The Position

The Supervisor, Manufacturing oversees daily shift operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production. This role leads and coaches manufacturing employees, sets team objectives, addresses operational challenges, and ensures adherence to cGMP, quality, documentation, data integrity, EH&S, and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor partners with cross-functional teams, supports training and performance management, contributes to workforce planning and process improvements, and fosters a collaborative, productive, and compliant work environment. This position follows a weekend-focused schedule consisting of two 12-hour overnight shifts (Friday 10:00 PM–Saturday 10:00 AM and Saturday 10:00 PM–Sunday 10:00 AM), in addition to two 8-hour weekday shifts. Weekday schedules are determined based on operational requirements and may offer flexibility in assigned days and hours.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 6+ years of related experience OR bachelor's degree in science, engineering or other related technical field and 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other cGMP-regulated operations.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, Good Documentation Practices, data integrity principles, and quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and change control processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine operational issues and collaborate with support groups for timely resolution.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with team members, peers, and support functions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to coach, support, and develop employees in a team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety practices and the ability to reinforce safe work behaviors.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, training, and business systems used to support production and workforce administration.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support off-shift, weekend, or business-critical operations as needed.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Some leadership experience preferred for Supervisor role.
  • Prior experience leading, coordinating, or directing the work of manufacturing employees, such as operators, technicians, or leads, preferred.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and problem-solving tools such as Lean, DMAIC, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing operations for an assigned team to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of production activities.
  • Set clear daily priorities and expectations for team members to support schedule adherence, quality standards, and operational goals.
  • Provide frontline leadership, guidance, and coaching to manufacturing employees to support task execution, employee development, and team effectiveness.
  • Monitor day-to-day operations in the manufacturing area and address routine operational issues, escalating to management or support functions as needed.
  • Ensure team adherence to cGMP, Good Documentation Practices, data integrity, EH&S requirements, and established company policies and procedures.
  • Support quality systems activities by identifying, documenting, and following through on deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and corrective actions within the assigned area.
  • Maintain a visible floor presence to monitor work practices, reinforce standards, support troubleshooting, and promote safe and compliant behaviors.
  • Coordinate staffing, work assignments, shift handoffs, and team communication to ensure continuity of operations and effective execution across shifts.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Labs, EHS, IT, and other support groups to resolve operational issues and support area performance.
  • Ensure employees are trained, qualified, and current on required job, safety, and compliance training before performing assigned work.
  • Conduct regular coaching, performance feedback, and performance evaluations, and support employee development planning.
  • Support workforce administration activities including timekeeping, attendance monitoring, overtime tracking, onboarding support, and maintenance of employee information in company systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and use problem-solving tools to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and team performance.
  • Represent the assigned area in meetings, audits, inspections, and investigations, providing accurate information and follow-up support as needed.
  • Use manufacturing and business systems to support production tracking, documentation, training compliance, and routine operational oversight.
