About The Position

Shaw Industries is investing more than $400 million into the expansion of our Aiken, South Carolina manufacturing facility, creating over 300 new jobs and increasing production capacity for both polymer and fiber operations. With more than 600 associates already supporting our Aiken operations, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing facility and help shape the future of manufacturing at Shaw. We are seeking a results-driven Twisting Production Supervisor to lead a team in a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, employee engagement, and continuous improvement while ensuring efficient operation of the Twisting Department during the night shift.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and timekeeping platforms.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, textiles, fiber, polymer, chemical, or industrial production environments.
  • Experience leading hourly production associates in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or operational excellence initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to production associates while partnering with maintenance, quality, engineering, extrusion, and heatset teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing production team on a 12-hour rotating night shift.
  • Drive a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with all Shaw safety standards and policies.
  • Monitor daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency targets are achieved.
  • Coordinate machine changeovers, startups, merge changes, walk-downs, and shutdown activities according to standard procedures.
  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream departments to maintain product flow and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings focused on safety, quality, performance, and operational priorities.
  • Coach, train, and develop associates while ensuring all required training and certifications are completed and documented.
  • Manage staffing needs, including scheduling, call-ins, shift coverage, overtime, and vacation planning.
  • Review and approve Kronos timekeeping records and address attendance exceptions.
  • Partner with quality and technical teams to ensure only first-quality product moves through the manufacturing process.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, quality concerns, equipment challenges, and process deviations.
  • Support planned maintenance activities and ensure preventative maintenance work is completed and documented.
  • Communicate performance expectations clearly and hold associates accountable for results.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
