About The Position

Valmet is seeking a Production Supervisor in Lenox, MA. This role involves directing the workforce to produce a quality product profitably and on time, maintaining plant equipment to OEM specifications and OSHA regulations, and ensuring global guidelines are followed. The position also requires making recommendations for improvements, managing new start-up tools and equipment, and troubleshooting production installations.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent.
• Experience in supervision.
• Experience with discipline as required on employee relations.
• Experience with safe practices while adhering to the collective bargaining agreement, company’s personnel policies and state and federal rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Solid understanding of machine tool and fabricating operations.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Desire to support and work closely with production workers.
• Knowledge of paper making processes or of machine tool and fabricating operations with a good mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Direct the workforce by supervising employees to produce a quality product in a profitable and timely manner.
• Maintain all plant equipment to OEM specifications and OSHA regulations.
• Assure that shipping dates are met as scheduled.
• Make recommendations for improvements.
• Assure that global guidelines are being followed.
• Provide recommendations for new start-up tools and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and provide improvements for production installations.
