About The Position

This role is responsible for the preventive/predictive/breakdown maintenance and operation of a high-speed ammunition production line. The individual will work as part of a team to address line issues, formulate, and implement ongoing improvement activities. The position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language sufficient enough to communicate effectively with other team members and supervision, read and comprehend process instructions, and record pertinent process information as required.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial or specialized maintenance experience preferred OR a recognized certificate of training or diploma in a course of study in general mechanics AND 2 years verifiable experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities.
  • Must satisfactorily pass a written comprehension test and mechanical aptitude evaluation.
  • Mechanical drive experience, mechanical installation and alignment techniques (motor/gearbox, pumps, sprockets, sheaves).
  • Use of precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine manuals/schematics, electrical blueprints/schematics, and process control diagrams.
  • Experience with AC/DC and servo motors, experience with limit and proximity switches, photo-electric sensors, and solenoid valves.
  • Ability to work any of a 4 day 7 shift operation.
  • Knowledge/experience using the Microsoft Office suite including Excel for data collection and interpretation.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 with normal color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 35 lbs. unaided.
  • Ability to stand or sit for up to 3 hours at a time.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, crouch, bend, or extend reach as required to perform tasks.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
  • Ability to grasp and feel small parts.
  • Good attendance is required.

  • Experience with PLC controlled, high-speed production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to increase equipment reliability and up-time.
  • Documents all checks, services, and repairs to maintain equipment manufacturer's warranties and compliance with plant, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Performs repairs on facilities, systems, equipment, or components that are consistent with mechanical ability, economically feasible, and can be done in a timely manner.
  • Performs other similar duties of comparable or lesser skills requirements as required or directed, including assisting other technical and manufacturing employees in the maintenance of plant property, systems, and equipment.
  • Serves as a team member to solve problems or implement positive improvements.
  • Utilizes expert knowledge on call operations within the facility to produce product according to job instructions.
  • Adheres to all housekeeping/sanitation standards in and around the work area, including 5S standards.
  • Strives to become proficient in all manufacturing cells.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical repairs (excluding electrical work) and performs preventative maintenance as required.
  • Performs required quality inspections.
  • Completes necessary station tracking transactions.
  • Maintains a clean, uncluttered work area according to 5S standards.
  • Works overtime when required.
  • Assists with any other projects and/or tasks on an as-needed basis as directed by Team Leader and/or management.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs PLC controlled, high-speed production equipment for a safe and productive work environment.
  • Complies with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and government (e.g., LOTOT, Work Permits, etc.).
  • Prioritizes and self-schedules maintenance work around production activities to achieve both production and maintenance KPI’s.
  • Operates machinery and achieves key performance metrics.
