Produce high-powered lasers as part of a manufacturing team. Perform hands-on production tasks, including: electromechanical assembly, splicing of optical fibers, inspection with microscopes, operation of electrical test equipment, operation of lasers, and cleaning parts.

Requirements

  • Experienced handling small delicate components and assembly, using ESD practices and clean room protocol preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented production environment.

  • Ability to communicate and follow English written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to maintain on-time, excellent attendance and overtime availability.

  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to work assigned shift with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to frequently use hands for the repetitive actions of simple and firm grasping.

Nice To Haves

  • Soldering and microscope experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform electromechanical assembly operations required to build fiber lasers
  • Work a minimum of 8 hours in a clean room environment, wearing clean room garments (smock, hair-covering, booties, gloves, and laser glasses)
  • Use manual and electronic tools for mechanical and optical assembly
  • Enter production build report data into computer-based travelers and inventory system
  • Includes handling solvents
  • Includes extended periods of standing and sitting
  • Contributing as a valued team member is central to long-term success in this position

Benefits

  • Starting pay depends on qualifications: Manufacturing Specialist III - starts $21.57 per hour
  • Shift differentials are paid at the rate of 10% for hours worked between 5:30PM and 12:00AM and at 15% for hours worked between 12:00AM and 5:30AM
  • Target Cash Bonus with potential payout of up to 2% of earned wages
  • 120 hours of paid Vacation per year, plus paid Sick Leave and 10 paid Holidays
