About The Position

Intuitive is seeking a hands-on, energetic, and high-capacity intern to join its Manufacturing Software Engineering team. The team designs and develops software and algorithms that support and automate product manufacturing to help ensure product performance and safety. Reporting to a Managing MFG Staff Software Engineer, the intern may build software and tools for manufacturing equipment and data analysis and contribute to a large project team. The internship is full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, for 10–12 weeks, starting in May or June; specific dates are shared during recruiting. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited degree-seeking program and plan to return to it after the internship.

Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in, and returning after the internship to, an accredited degree-seeking academic program.
Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or related degree-seeking program at the bachelor’s or master’s level.
Hands-on experience with at least one modern programming language; C# or Python is preferred.
Enthusiasm and passion for automation.
Hands-on approach, ability to learn quickly, and willingness to work on both software and hardware.
Team player with good oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and time-management skills.
Must be available to work full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, for 10–12 weeks starting in May or June.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with object-oriented programming and design concepts and modern programming languages.
Experience with hardware control, firmware, or automation.
Familiarity with software frameworks, tools, or data engineering.
Ability to identify and debug software and hardware issues in complex systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test software systems that control machines and streamline manufacturing processes.
Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide project updates and deliverables.
Present projects and lessons learned to the team.
