Site Director – Salem, Massachusetts Teledyne QES and Energetics US Reports To: Senior Vice President & General Manager, QES and Energetics US Position Summary Seeking a strategic and results-oriented Site Director to lead its Salem, Massachusetts operation. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President & General Manager of QES and Energetics US, this role is responsible for overall business performance, strategic planning, organizational development, operational excellence, engineering execution, and long-term growth. The Site Director will lead a multi-functional organization including Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program Management. The position is responsible for building a scalable organization capable of supporting business growth through product innovation, process modernization, technology investment, talent development, and operational transformation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-functional organizations including Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program Management.
  • Proven experience driving strategic growth, organizational scaling, capacity expansion, and operational transformation.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with P&L responsibility.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, Master's Degree in Engineering, or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Previous Site Leadership experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or equivalent leadership certification.
  • Experience leading process improvement, automation programs, and growth initiatives.
  • Experience supporting government and defense programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision and long-range growth plan for the site.
  • Drive profitable growth through increased market penetration, operational scalability, and customer expansion.
  • Lead annual operating plans, capital investment strategies, workforce planning, and capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Ensure organizational structure, talent, and infrastructure are aligned to support future growth objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the senior executive representative for the business with customers, industry partners, and corporate leadership.
  • Own overall business performance including revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, bookings, backlog, and capital investments.
  • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range business plans.
  • Build and develop a high-performing leadership team through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Provide executive leadership for all manufacturing and operational activities.
  • Lead facility manufacturing modernization, and automation initiatives.
  • Optimize labor, equipment, facilities, and capital resources to improve productivity and throughput.
  • Remove operational constraints and establish scalable processes capable of supporting future demand.
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery performance, and manufacturing lead-time reduction.
  • Oversee capital planning and investment decisions to support growth and operational efficiency.
  • Provide executive leadership for Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, and New Product Development activities.
  • Establish engineering strategies aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and technology roadmaps.
  • Build engineering capability and capacity to support sustained growth and program execution.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability, Design for Cost, and Design for Reliability initiatives.
  • Ensure successful transition of new products from development into production.
  • Lead engineering workforce planning, succession development, and technical talent acquisition.
  • Ensure successful execution of customer programs across cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance objectives.
  • Establish rigorous operating reviews, risk management processes, and performance accountability.
  • Support strategic proposals, contract negotiations, and business development initiatives.
  • Champion an uncompromising commitment to safety, ethics, quality, and environmental stewardship.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace, defense, customer, regulatory, and government requirements.
  • Maintain robust quality systems and operational controls that support business objectives and customer expectations.
