About The Position

This role provides manufacturing leadership for the plant, shift, and department. The manager will oversee multiple shifts of an assembly line, fabrication, or machining operation. Key responsibilities include driving results, establishing and monitoring performance metrics, and setting expectations for safety, quality, and cost. The position involves communication with customers, suppliers, shop floor personnel, stakeholders, and support staff, as well as managing the annual operating plan, forecasts, and other manufacturing operations measurements. The role requires applying Team Based Work Systems and Production Structure, utilizing decision-making processes to balance customer, individual, and business needs. Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping are to be used for continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction and eliminating the 7 wastes. The manager will also identify and improve health and safety measures to foster an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free facility, adhering to Health and Safety Fundamentals. Troubleshooting manufacturing errors using knowledge of key processes, delegating tasks for coordinated performance, and managing complex manufacturing projects with monitoring and planning tools are essential. The role involves using Six Sigma Process Improvement tools for process development, planning, and scheduling, and applying knowledge of Labor and Employee Relations to implement programs that influence organizational culture and ensure fair employee treatment. Creating an environment for smooth information flow, providing guidance and feedback, and applying Performance Management to set and communicate standards, clarify responsibilities, and identify training needs are also key aspects. Finally, the position requires utilizing knowledge of Emergency Management and Response to ensure business continuity during unforeseen emergencies.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience managing multiple shifts of an assembly line, fabrication or machining operation.

  • Utilize Six Sigma Process Improvement tools to develop processes, plans, and schedules to provide relevant information and obtain feedback from the organization.
  • Apply knowledge of Labor and Employee Relations to implement programs and tools that influence the organizational culture and ensure fairness and consistent treatment of employees, feedback mechanisms, and communication programs.
  • Create an atmosphere in which timely and high-quality information flows smoothly between self and others.
  • Provide guidance and feedback for team members in accomplishing tasks and goals.
  • Apply knowledge of Performance Management to establish performance standards and communicate them in a way that creates buy-in.
