About The Position

Cardinal Health's Manufacturing department is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities, including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment. The Product Test & Calibration team sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. This role also assists with and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills in assigned areas, as well as glassware, ovens, and other equipment. The Technician I, Product Test & Calibration role is to set-up, maintain, operate, test and inspect product, and perform repairs on equipment in compliance with finished product specifications. The goal is to minimize scrap generation and promote workplace safety. This role provides process information to management so production equipment may be optimized and/or corrected, facilitates workflow, and ensures production is maintained.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience preferred
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Applies basic skills and techniques to complete routine tasks within assigned area
  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
  • Works on basic and routine assignments
  • Works within clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Adheres to all quality guidelines
  • Works under close supervision
  • All work is reviewed for accuracy
  • Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding

Responsibilities

  • Sets up various production machines and ancillary equipment according to procedures and product specifications
  • Monitors machinery and goals during shift and adjusts as necessary
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment malfunction and arranges or completes repairs
  • Performs preventive maintenance as assigned by supervisor according to the Preventive Maintenance schedule
  • Completes documentation related to the finished product according to established guidelines
  • Interprets data and confers with management to determine required standards
  • Selects products for inspection evaluation at specified stages in the production process and performs various inspections per required characteristics
  • Transports hazardous waste to required areas
  • Completes annual refresher trainings
