About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) Engineer/Scientist to provide technical leadership across the manufacturing lifecycle of liquid chromatography (LC) columns. This role is focused on solving high-impact production challenges, improving process capability, and driving product consistency that directly impacts customer experience and business performance. As a key member of the MSAT organization, you will serve as the technical bridge between manufacturing, quality, R&D, and global manufacturing teams, applying scientific and engineering principles to optimize manufacturing processes and improve operational robustness. You will lead investigations into complex manufacturing issues, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and deliver data-driven solutions that enhance product quality, yield, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience applying data analysis and statistical tools to solve complex technical problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chromatography, silica materials, particle synthesis, porous materials, separation science, or consumables manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of LC column manufacturing, packing processes, particle creation and modification, particle characterization, or related technologies.
  • Experience with process capability analysis, DOE, SPC, Lean Six Sigma, or advanced manufacturing analytics.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 manufacturing environments and quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for liquid chromatography column manufacturing processes, supporting both silica particle production/modification and column packing/loading operations.
  • Lead root cause investigations for complex production issues impacting quality, throughput, yield, or customer performance.
  • Apply chemistry, engineering, and materials science knowledge to understand process interactions and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Use statistical analysis, process capability metrics, Design of Experiments (DOE), and advanced data analytics to drive informed decision making.
  • Improve process robustness and reduce variability through identification and implementation of process improvements.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Product Management to resolve technical challenges and implement lifecycle improvements.
  • Support technology transfer, process scale-up, material changes, supplier changes, and new product introductions.
  • Develop and maintain process knowledge, control strategies, and technical standards that ensure consistent manufacturing performance across sites.
  • Drive value creation initiatives focused on quality, delivery, capacity, and cost improvements.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
