About The Position

The Manufacturing Sales Representative drives revenue growth across assigned territories by acquiring new business, expanding existing accounts, and representing our portfolio of abrasive and super abrasive grinding products and services. This role combines consultative selling with technical aptitude to understand customer operations, align solutions to business outcomes, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless quoting, fulfillment, and post-sale support.

Requirements

  • Motivated and competitive self-starter with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent and proven experience in territory planning and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet aggressive deadlines and execute on agreed upon sales metrics
  • Demonstrated success meeting quotas with consultative/value-selling techniques and multi-stakeholder buying groups.
  • Technical aptitude to learn product lines and apply them to customer applications; comfortable in plant/production settings.
  • Proven ability to influence buying decisions through persuasive written and verbal communication. Confident presenter and strategic networker with a talent for building strong client relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint); strong pipeline discipline and forecasting accuracy.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within territory (~50%+ as needed).
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Outside sales experience in manufacturing preferred but not required; abrasive or super abrasive experience preferred. Experience selling to manufacturers or distributors preferred.
  • 2- or 4-year college degree preferred
  • Engineering or Technical degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and develop new B2B accounts across manufacturing and industrial sectors; build relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
  • Utilize cold calling, networking events, trade shows, and referrals to build a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Manage a balanced territory plan (geography, industry, and account potential); prioritize high-value targets and maintain clear account ownership.
  • Travel to customer locations to conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, and value-based discovery to quantify business impact (e.g., downtime reduction, maintenance efficiency).
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and sales agreements; negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels in line with margin and policy requirements.
  • Build and Maintain Client Relationships by fostering long-term partnerships with existing and new customers through regular follow-ups, personalized consultations, and exceptional service.
  • Use CRM daily to maintain pipelines, forecast accurately, and document activities; leverage account-based forecasting and sales agreements where applicable.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure timely delivery, inventory alignment, and issue resolution.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events; monitor competitive activity and market trends.
  • Provide after-sale support, coordinate training, and drive adoption; collect customer feedback to inform product and service improvements.
  • Maintain expert-level understanding of our product portfolio, including technical specifications and emerging technologies. Stay informed about industry developments, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes through ongoing learning and training.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals by strategically managing territory and prioritizing high-potential opportunities.
