About The Position

VFM is seeking a motivated and well-rounded Manufacturing Sales Engineer to support our diverse customer base and contribute to our continued growth. This position is ideal for an individual who is eager to learn multiple aspects of the manufacturing business. The primary focus of the role is sales, while working closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and external suppliers to ensure products are delivered to customer specifications, on budget, and on time. This role offers hands-on involvement throughout the entire product lifecycle, from quotation and design support to manufacturing and customer relationship management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business.
  • 0-2 years of professional work experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or familiarity working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of machining processes and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of material characteristics and properties.
  • Familiarity with surface finishing processes, including coatings, anodizing, and plating.
  • Experience working with suppliers, vendors, or manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain product designs, solid models, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and suppliers to support production and quality requirements.
  • Prepare customer quotations and establish product cost estimates.
  • Support raw material purchasing through distributors and mill suppliers.
  • Work closely with the VFM Commercial Team to support sales initiatives and customer growth.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of both the sales process and manufacturing operations.
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with assigned customer accounts.
  • Work with customers to develop annual forecasts and volume projections.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Develop and execute business plans focused on account growth and key projects.
  • Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and presentations as needed.
  • Travel as required to support customer visits, account development, and trade shows.
  • Participate in new business development activities and strategic sales initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
