About The Position

Boulevard Tire Center is growing and seeking a Manufacturing Retread Technician for our Jacksonville, FL location. While forklift experience is a plus, we prefer candidates with 1 year of manufacturing and production experience. Key attributes include excellent attention to detail, flexibility, and a strong attendance and safety record. However, we are willing to train individuals with a strong willingness to learn and an interest in advancement.

Responsibilities

Perform repetitive work to inspect, buff, repair, build, heat, and seal tires by operating machines to rebuild tires from rubber components.
Inspect worn tires for faults, cracks, cuts, and nail holes to determine suitability for retreading.
Operate a buffing machine to remove treads from tires to be retreaded, adhering to specifications for depth and width removal.
Measure diameter and cross-section to determine the correct tread width.
Build semi-raw rubber treads onto buffed tire casings to prepare tires for vulcanization in recapping and retreading processes.
Place tires in a chamber and program the correct curing temperature according to specifications.
Inspect tires to identify defects in curing, such as soft cures, ply separation, or missed repairs.
Trim and paint finished retreaded tires.
Repair tires found to be defective during the process.
Conduct a final inspection of repairs, cut tread designs with a re-grooving iron, paint the tire, and place it in finished stock.
Maintain a stock of tread rubber and repair materials, informing the manager when replenishment is needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, demonstrating ability and flexibility.
