About The Position

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Supervisor to drive our Global Quality Improvement Process (GQIP) and lead rapid-response initiatives to mitigate quality spikes. In this critical role, you will act as the primary liaison between the UAW-Ford Joint Quality Committee and the Global Quality Office, ensuring our manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of excellence. You will develop, implement, and standardize robust quality strategies while serving as the vital link between plant operations, the UAW-Ford Joint Quality Committee, and the Global Quality Office. As a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in the Ford Quality Operating System (QOS), you will seamlessly translate complex data (GQRS, Warranty, JD Power) into rapid, cross-functional problem-solving initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Proven experience working within the Ford Quality Operating System (QOS) or a similar comprehensive quality management system.
  • Demonstrated experience in labor relations or working directly with the UAW (or similar union organizations) on joint quality initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in problem-solving methodologies, specifically 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets (e.g., Warranty data, GQRS, or JD Power).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering Management, MBA, or a related field.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Shainin Red X Journeyman/Master certification.
  • Deep expertise in Global Quality Improvement Process (GQIP) and Quality Performance Improvement Plan (QPIP) frameworks.
  • Advanced data visualization skills (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, or QlikView) to drive decision-making.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a high-volume assembly or powertrain plant.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and plant floor operators alike.

Responsibilities

  • Design and drive quality strategies (e.g., sticker review, 0-100) while championing the standardization of the Global Quality Improvement Process (GQIP) across all operations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams using advanced methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, Shainin Red X) to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze internal and external Quality Performance Improvement Plan (QPIP) indicators, including deep-dive analysis of GQRS data, warranty trends, and JD Power scores.
  • Execute rapid-response initiatives to immediately address and resolve quality spikes, creating robust, measurable processes to prevent recurrence.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the UAW-Ford Joint Quality Committee to implement collaborative quality initiatives and act as a strategic liaison to the Global Quality Office.
  • Utilize extensive, hands-on mastery of the Ford Quality Operating System (QOS), its associated toolsets, and the Quality Value Stream to ensure operational integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Lead complex root-cause investigations by expertly applying 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and Pareto Analysis. Leverage advanced methodologies—such as Shainin Red X or Six Sigma—to resolve chronic issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Synthesize complex data sets from GQRS, Warranty, and JD Power to identify emerging trends. Prioritize and execute "Deep Dive" initiatives on the most critical manufacturing challenges to drive rapid quality recovery.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of managing high-impact, large-scale projects. Utilize strong executive presence to present findings, recovery strategies, and quality roadmaps effectively to senior leadership.
  • Exercise exceptional written and verbal communication skills to build consensus and serve as a vital interface between global partners, cross-functional teams, and UAW leadership.
