The Manufacturing Quality Specialist monitors production lines, verifying assemblies, parts, and ensures processes adhere to specifications. This role ensures product integrity, manages non-conforming materials, prevents defects, and maintains real-time operational compliance. The scope of this position covers all manufacturing floor activities including parts, sub-assemblies, and full assemblies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing/quality preferred.
  • One to three years of hands-on quality inspection or manufacturing experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine audits of active production lines to ensure operators follow established processes and procedures.
  • Perform periodic, and random sampling inspections utilizing precision tools like calipers, micrometers, Pin and Block Gages, Height Gage, and various other measuring equipment.
  • Recommend real-time assembly or tooling adjustments to production when processes when the process is no being followed.
  • Immediately flag, tag, and quarantine any material or in-process assembly that deviates from acceptance criteria.
  • Document non-conformances in the quality database outlining the exact defect, part number, and quantity.
  • Work with the Quality team and multiple departments to organize and maintain the designated RGW (Return Goods Warehouse) and Non-Conformance areas. Participate in the process of moving materials through the processes for both.
  • Partner with production and manufacturing to investigate failures, participate in the disposition decision (scrap, return-to-vendor, or rework) of material on quality hold.
  • Perform follow-up inspections on reworked items to verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective and preventative actions.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration activities and records of inspections tools and gauges.
  • Assist in complying with ISO guidelines and continuous improvement activities. Support team with ISO 9001 compliance, programs, and procedures. Help create documentation and communicate procedures, work instructions, protocols, and policies to meet the QMS (Quality Management System).
