Manufacturing Quality Manager
About The Position
The Manufacturing Quality Manager will oversee and manage internal production quality systems to ensure all products meet specifications. This role involves managing a team of Quality Technicians, overseeing the Engineering Change process, and investigating non-conforming goods. The manager will also support Corporate Quality in adhering to ISO9001 standards and New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards. A significant part of the role includes Supplier Quality Management, ensuring raw materials and contracted suppliers meet specifications, managing supplier relationships, driving improvement initiatives, and handling supplier quality issues. Additionally, the position supports new product introduction by collaborating with Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure proper quality documentation and supplier capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Strong knowledge of science, physics and mathematics
- Strong knowledge around statistical analysis, SPC and statistical software packages
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement tools
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities
- Manage the existing base of raw material and contracted suppliers to ensure materials/products meet specifications
- Manage a database of supplier specifications and ensure supplier has the capability to supply to needs
- Manage the on-going technical relationship with suppliers as needed
- Drive activities towards supplier improvement and scrap reduction to reduce cost
- Lead or manage the response to supplier quality issues via investigation, data analysis, root cause, problem solving and implementation involving stakeholders and suppliers
- Manage the Supplier Corrective Action Process and documentation
- Manage the incoming inspection and data collection of raw goods as determined
- Work with Product Development to ensure proper quality documentation and supplier capability
- Manage and facilitate the process of new manufactured product flow and costing by working with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production Management
- Work with Inventory Control and Purchasing to install purchasing specifications
- Set-up in-coming QC inspection and documentation as needed
- Manage internal production quality systems to ensure all products are made to specification
- Manage a team of Quality Technicians in support of product production
- Manage the Engineering Change process and documentation
- Manage the investigation and containment of all non-conforming goods from raw stock to warehoused finished goods
- Support Corporate Quality as needed with conformance to ISO9001 standards
- Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
