About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of manufactured products through various inspection processes. The inspector will perform raw material evaluations, review documentation for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conduct in-process testing, and perform AQL inspections on bulk or packaged product. The position also involves placing product on hold for quality issues, assisting in investigations, and maintaining a safe work environment. The inspector must be able to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Zero to two years related inspection experience.
  • Familiarity with general inspection procedures.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as product specifications, departmental instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine e-mails to communicate within QC and with operations personnel.
  • Good writing and good communication skills.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and averages.
  • Ability to compare results to specifications to determine if result meets requirements.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Ability to work in a quick-paced environment and change tasks frequently.
  • Ability to learn quickly, operate independently, and to assume responsibility for new tasks.

  • Experience in quality department preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs raw material evaluation on all incoming shipments and obtains representative lot samples.
  • Completes necessary documentation and Oracle entries for incoming materials.
  • Samples incoming raw material and incoming packaged products upon receipt in warehouse.
  • Reviews COC/COA of incoming material and/or incoming packaging component, as needed.
  • Reviews documentation for completeness and compliance with GMPs and SOPs for processing or packaging inspection.
  • Performs random in-process testing to verify operator’s results.
  • Releases materials for use and reviews documentation for completeness.
  • Communicates problems/out-of-specification issues to supervisor/lead and operations personnel.
  • Assists supervisor/lead in conducting investigations.
  • Performs AQL inspections on bulk or packaged product, as needed.
  • Places product on hold status to investigate quality issues.
  • Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
  • Supports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures.
  • Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in training activities, reporting safety concerns, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting workplace hazards.
  • Assists with communicating safety information to new employees.
  • Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.
