About The Position

As a Manufacturing & Quality Engineering Intern, you will be working closely with the Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineer to support ongoing activities within our New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing and packaging environment. This document outlines what you can expect throughout the internship and how your work will contribute to the team’s success. This internship role will assist in preparing, testing, validating, and documenting manufacturing and packaging processes associated with new product introductions and updates to existing production workflows. The role involves hands-on support on the production floor as well as technical and documentation-focused tasks within engineering.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Completion of at least two years of undergraduate engineering coursework (junior standing or above) or first year graduate status.
  • No prior industry experience is required; training will be provided for all responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred majors include Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Prior coursework or exposure to topics such as manufacturing processes, quality principles, materials science, or engineering design is beneficial.
  • Experience working in laboratory settings, project teams, or engineering clubs is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with Excel or other data analysis tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in line trials, test builds, and process validation activities.
  • Assist with setting up, observing, and verifying manufacturing and packaging processes to ensure readiness for production.
  • Collect process data, support workflow observations, and identify potential process improvements.
  • Contribute to updates of work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support packaging configuration verification and documentation updates.
  • Assist in checking materials, labeling, and packaging requirements for compliance with specifications.
  • Contribute to the organization and accuracy of packaging workflows and related documentation.
  • Conduct basic quality checks, measurements, and inspection activities under supervision.
  • Assist with data collection, defect tracking, and preliminary investigation tasks.
  • Participate in quality reporting, documentation updates, and internal process audits as directed.
