About The Position

MetFab Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality Department. This role is responsible for ensuring product and process quality by developing inspection plans, resolving quality issues, maintaining ISO 9001 compliance, and driving corrective actions and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects while working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to stay focused and have the ability to apply knowledge and common sense to carry out the detailed job functions
  • Five or more years of Quality Engineering experience
  • US Citizenship (due to federal contracts in place, only US Citizens are eligible for consideration)

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering Degree (Quality or Industrial preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Support quality assurance activities throughout metal fabrication operations including cutting, forming, machining, welding, finishing, and assembly.
  • Review fabrication drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Create inspection and control plans, quality procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and FMEA methodologies.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support ISO 9001 compliance, audits, and customer quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Improve manufacturing processes and digitally streamline workflows.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in updating our NQA-1 QMS, Procedures & Operating Instructions as needed to revise to a newer standard revision.
