About The Position

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Quality Engineering Supervisor, the Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for conducting root cause analysis of both external and internal quality non-conformances and implementing robust corrective actions. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality conformance for all incoming systems to the production floor. This is accomplished by working in a collaborative manner with all necessary plants &/or departments - facilitating claims through all 8 phases of an 8D approach to closure. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (preferably Quality or Engineering related) preferred, or equivalent relevant experience/training
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a plus
  • 1-5 years of prior Quality Assurance experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
  • SME of 8D approach (5-Why, Ishikawa, etc.)
  • Certified or Experience with IATF, ISO standards
  • Full understanding of AIAG APQP Process
  • Knowledge of QMS (Automotive, Aerospace, etc.)
  • Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, along with adequate insurance
  • Ability to travel by air / car both domestically and internationally if required
  • Familiar with PPAP process
  • Ability to travel overseas if required

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Injection Molding knowledge is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with customer expectations as they relate to quality, timing, and deadlines for complaints.
  • Understand and apply the 8 Disciplined approach problem solving method, and all related tools.
  • Directly responsible for D4-D8 (Root Cause, Corrective and Preventative Actions) for each claim.
  • Lead teams while facilitating claims through all phases of an 8D in a systematic and methodical manner.
  • Facilitate and approve the return of defective products, process for analysis, and report on findings.
  • Confirm quality conformance of all incoming systems to the production floor.
  • Complete root cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions for internal quality non-conformances.
  • Escalate complex complaints or those requiring management intervention.
  • Prepare reports on complaints, including numbers received, nature of complaints and resolutions.
  • Communicate interdepartmentally to resolve complaints and implement robust corrective actions.
  • Analyze complaints to understand the root cause and identify trends and/or recurring problems.
  • Ability to dissect data revealing trends, concerns, patterns, etc. from multiple vantage points.
