About The Position

The Manufacturing / Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing, inspection, validation, and quality processes across production and the supply base. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers to ensure products meet design intent, quality standards, and production requirements while driving continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and validation activities
  • Familiar with production-level software release processes
  • Can ensure proper software release procedures are followed at the production and deployment level
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Electrical / controls experience for capital equipment
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data interpretation skills
  • Experience developing metrics, KPIs, and technical reports
  • Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross‑functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP systems, SharePoint, and project tracking tools (e.g., Wrike)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, supplier quality, or production inspection

Nice To Haves

  • GD&T experience preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt preferred
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review parts, assemblies, and processes to identify manufacturing, quality, and assembly risks and requirements
  • Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional corrective action initiatives
  • Lead machine and process validation testing, including test planning, execution, data collection, and reporting
  • Develop, track, and report metrics and KPIs related to production quality and supplier quality performance
  • Drive engineering, manufacturing, and quality process development and improvement efforts
  • Collaborate with suppliers on drawing reviews, inspection criteria, nonconformances, and corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, inspection reports, and test documentation
  • Perform inspections at all stages of production for mechanical and electrical components and assemblies
  • Analyze test and inspection data, investigate deviations from standards, and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Test, validate and manage the release process to machine upgrades in the field
  • Apply structured problem‑solving methodologies to resolve production and supplier quality issues
  • Maintain calibration and readiness of quality and inspection equipment
  • Administer document control systems and ensure compliance with quality requirements
  • Conduct supplier audits, on‑site inspections, and performance reviews as required
