About The Position

This Manufacturing Prototype Technician will assist development engineers (DE) to make rapid prototype samples by building them and troubleshooting early-stage of production. This role is also supporting full manufacturing of products in a designated Value stream. The position requires the Associate to set up, run, troubleshoot jobs and interpret and follow work instructions. They will train others and have a complete understanding of the operation and safety requirements for various machines and presses.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • 2-3 years manufacturing experience required
  • Able to interpret and understand print drawings.
  • Able to complete basic CAD drawings.
  • Able to program laser cutter and verify prototype parts dimensionally.
  • Can speak, understand and write English.
  • Effective training of others.
  • Problem solving.
  • Outward mindset focus (work well with others).
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude and a team player.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Time accurate entries in the computer time clock system.
  • Has proven success maintaining production rates resulting at or below established job values.
  • Has performed quality inspections in accordance with the Quality department procedures and Engineering resulting in no improper findings from quality audits or Customer Corrective Actions (CCARS).
  • Has ensured the accuracy of all required documentation with evidence of success based on Quality Department audits and no contributing ISO findings.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • medical manufacturing experience a plus
  • Formal training or experience with Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist DE to design and create rapid protype samples for the DE team.
  • Assemble and package feasibility parts.
  • Support the automation team in assembling fixtures and tooling.
  • Set up, run and troubleshoot manufacturing of new and existing products based on established job rates and procedures.
  • Train and coach other associates.
  • Accountable for turning samples in a timely manner.
  • Accountable to timely assembly and packaging of feasibility parts.
  • Accountable for meeting quarterly attendance goals.
  • Accountable for accurate documentation and service quality.
  • Accountable for completing personal learning and development goals.
  • Positively contribute to company's new and existing product revenue goals.
  • Accountable for reporting to Management any unsafe working conditions.
