Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred), Engineering Technology degree from an accredited college or a Mechanical Associate degree with experience in a variety of technical assignments.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing planning experience.
  • Work experience in lieu of degree requires a total of 12 years of Project and Manufacturing Planning experience.
  • High degree of initiative, able to function independently, effectively participate in cross-functional teams, and exercise sound judgment in dealing maturely with outside parties.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, or other ERP systems, and the ability to learn SAP within acceptable timelines to successfully understand SAP costing, add components to work order, track items in SAP to confirm delivery, where purchased, etc.
  • Problem solving abilities needed to respond to technical questions from shop floor/outside machine shops (mechanical) regarding AutoCAD, Solid Works, and SAP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering drawings and systems.
  • Demonstrate the Kimberly-Clark Ways of Working and have excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to maintain positive working relationships with customers, colleagues, vendors, suppliers and contractors.
  • Proficient with Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other software as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Machine shop operations knowledge is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of technical project support to the Value Engineering organization and will be responsible for managing multiple converting machine projects ranging in size from $0.5MM to over $6MM.
  • Coordinate projects with Staff Engineering, Procurement, and Global Plants.
  • Provide work direction and coaching to project planners and manage the health and improvement of workflow processes.
  • Develop plans to support customer schedules and costs, while providing technical support to internal/external partners.
  • Interpret highly technical customer blueprints, specifications and orders, translating those customer needs into detailed instructions/purchasing requirements, and establishing complete project schedules to make the part in the time required.
  • Project management/leadership, including monitoring and controlling project costs, for the assigned jobs as they go through the plant.
  • Cross-functional leadership of project team including Kimtech Project Planners.
  • Independent problem solving throughout project cycle.
  • Deliver project updates to cross-functional Project teams and Senior Leaders.
  • Lead the plant in complying with corporate and outside regulatory agencies.
