Manufacturing Project Manager – Equipment & Facility Projects

Noveon Magnetics•San Marcos, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

Noveon Magnetics is seeking an execution-focused Manufacturing Project Manager to coordinate industrial installation, equipment fabrication, and commissioning projects at its manufacturing facility in San Marcos, Texas. The role is focused on professional project management: delivering projects on schedule, tracking budgets and resources, aligning cross-functional teams, and removing roadblocks. The Project Manager works with independent mechanical, electrical, piping, and fabrication leads, rather than serving as a technical designer or the direct manager of trade teams. The position oversees project schedules and milestones, risk reporting, cost and resource tracking, Bill of Materials (BOM) and procurement coordination, and on-site material staging. It also coordinates with vendors and discipline leads on fabrication, equipment rigging, piping installation, electrical utilities, testing, and commissioning readiness. The role requires reading mechanical drawings, P&IDs, fabrication blueprints, and basic schematics, as well as using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to review design files and support BOM verification and field-progress tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business operations, engineering, or construction management, or equivalent hands-on industrial project coordination experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing or coordinating projects in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial construction.
  • Proven experience managing project schedules, tracking budgets, and coordinating BOM procurement.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Practical, hands-on knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD for design review and file navigation.
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software such as MS Project, Asana, or Smartsheet.
  • Ability to work effectively with experienced technical leads who do not report directly to the Project Manager.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and translating mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work at a computer.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and update baseline project schedules and track progress against critical-path milestones.
  • Facilitate regular alignment meetings with mechanical, electrical, piping, and fabrication leads to synchronize timelines, manage dependencies, and remove bottlenecks.
  • Identify delays, resource constraints, and material shortages; escalate risks and maintain progress reports for plant leadership.
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved CapEx and OpEx budgets, track cost variances, and manage cash-flow timelines.
  • Own tracking of project Bills of Materials, lead times, and procurement status to prevent field delays.
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors so materials and industrial hardware arrive in line with the master schedule.
  • Track material arrivals against packing lists, monitor quality compliance on delivery, and coordinate on-site staging for installation.
  • Coordinate timelines and delivery dates with mechanical and fabrication leads, including shop fabrication and equipment rigging.
  • Work with the piping lead to track installation progress, material availability, and testing windows.
  • Coordinate utility requirements and timeline expectations with the master electrician and crew, relying on their expertise for execution and code compliance.
  • Read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, fabrication blueprints, and basic schematics to understand scope and track field progress.
  • Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to review design files, verify dimensions, extract details for BOM verification, and compare field installations with engineering models.
  • Coordinate site acceptance testing and component-level checkout schedules, confirming independent leads have completed their scopes before equipment startup.
