About The Position

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing organization in the Rancho Cordova area, to hire an experienced Manufacturing Project Controller. This key leadership role oversees all accounting operations tied to manufacturing activities, including detailed cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader with deep manufacturing expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to partner closely with operations to drive accuracy, efficiency, and profitability across the production environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Deep knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, standard costing, and variance analysis
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or comparable platforms
  • Advanced Excel proficiency paired with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all manufacturing cost accounting functions, including standard costing, job costing, variance analysis, and project-level labor costing
  • Analyze production costs and deliver clear reporting that compares standard vs. actual performance to support operational decision-making
  • Manage inventory valuation across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods while ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities, producing timely, GAAP-aligned financial statements for leadership
  • Partner with operations to drive cost efficiency, develop budgets and forecasts, and identify opportunities for process and profitability improvements
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance, continuous-improvement culture
