About The Position

Advance Storage Products, a leading manufacturer of pushback systems since 1958, is seeking a reliable, long-term Manufacturing Production Technician proficient in Mandarin to support its Piedmont, AL manufacturing operations. This role involves applying various technologies to install, test, modify, maintain, and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment. The technician will also be responsible for translating oral and written communication between English and Mandarin in the context of industrial machine design specifications, ensuring effective communication across different parties and maintaining technical terminology lists.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin, with proven ability to clearly communicate with technical support teams, engineering, maintenance, and operations management.
Thorough understanding of products and equipment used in manufacturing.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to appropriately understand and respond to culturally sensitive situations, perspectives, and phrases.
Ability to work well under pressure and in intense situations.
Ability to successfully interact with all stakeholders at multi-levels of responsibility in an industrial environment.
Associate’s degree or postsecondary certificate in related discipline required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least two years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

Ensures quality and consistency in production processes by assessing, modifying, and/or calibrating equipment.
Ensure efficiency and productivity by evaluating and modifying production processes and/or equipment.
Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products; uses precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to adjust.
Gather and arrange materials.
Assists manufacturing operations with tasks related to development, construction, and evaluation of prototypes, new products, operations, and/or procedures.
Drafts and maintains production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress.
Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
Carefully listens to or reads content and acronyms in Mandarin.
Understands and analyzes what is being said or written in Mandarin, and effectively and accurately translates the message, intent, and nuances being communicated.
Reproduces statements or questions in English.
Facilitates effective communication among individuals, companies, or other interested parties.
Attend all required mutual meetings where translation may be needed.
Gathers, develops, and maintains lists of terminology and information that may be used in technical translations such as industrial materials.
Performs other duties as assigned.
