About The Position

Fischer Paper Products is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead daily production operations, coach and develop employees, and champion continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment and understands the challenges associated with paper converting, printing, packaging, and high-speed production operations. Experience working with paper rolls, cylinders, inks, adhesives, coatings, printing presses, slitters, rewinders, and converting equipment is highly desirable. This individual is a hands-on leader who enjoys developing employees, solving production challenges, and driving continuous improvement. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and team leadership skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with production metrics and operational performance measures.
  • Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in paper converting, printing, packaging, or roll-to-roll manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience working with paper grades, converting equipment, cylinders, printing presses, inks, adhesives (glue), coatings, and related manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of flexographic printing, roll handling, web tension control, and print quality standards is a plus.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in paper converting, packaging, food manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience training employees and leading workforce development initiatives.
  • Project management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience driving employee engagement, retention, and team development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support production employees to achieve daily operational goals.

  • Support workforce planning, scheduling, attendance management, and staffing needs.

  • Monitor daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity expectations are achieved.
  • Coordinate resources and manpower to meet customer demands and production schedules.
  • Lead shift operations while ensuring efficient workflow and equipment utilization.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve production challenges.
  • Analyze production performance and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead hands-on training for machine operators and production employees.
  • Support onboarding and training programs for new hires.
  • Develop cross-training opportunities to strengthen workforce flexibility.
  • Identify skill gaps and create development plans that support employee success.
  • Encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing throughout the operation.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving equipment, process, and production issues.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles to improve operational performance.
  • Support implementation of process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP requirements.
  • Support a safe working environment through leadership and employee accountability.
  • Partner with Quality teams to investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure products consistently meet company and customer quality standards.
