About The Position

We are looking for a highly motivated leader ready to fulfill supervisory responsibilities which include leading Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale activities relative to daily production responsibilities. This person would ensure adherence of all company policies within the department. They would manage daily manpower requirements to meet daily production demand, including changes in manpower, and training needs. Also, set-up and manage manufacturing production processes to manufacture products according to production specifications, build schedules, and quality standards. Lead teams to own their quality of product throughout the department. Maintain accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis. Ensure accountability for reaching daily quality and production goals while ensuring ISO 9001: 2015 standards are followed.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree
  • Typically requires 5-7 years of relevant experience or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Decision maker for daily activities that are guided by policy, procedures, and business plans with oversight from manager
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of procedures and concepts related to job field as well as basic knowledge of other related work areas
  • Coordinates the resources of team and set daily priorities to meet operational objectives
  • Primarily supervises the work of entry and intermediate level professional individual contributors or large numbers of shop floor employees in operations, manufacturing, and/or logistics
  • Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees
  • Responsible for staffing decisions such as hiring, firing, rewarding, training, and developing employees
  • BS/BA and 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing environment OR 8 years of experience in manufacturing environment in lieu of degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience leading teams
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering (or related field of study) OR 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of the product and basic electrical system is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Truck Electrical system, Plant Testing Procedures and Equipment
  • Strong analytics background is preferred, with ability to compile, sort, and analyze data for effective problem solving

  • Ensuring training goals are met to maintain flexibility in manpower adjustments.
  • Enforcing Company work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Adhering to and resolving any respective issues relative to the CBA (Union Contract).
  • Driving Continuous Improvement efforts across area of responsibility daily.
  • Coaching and Developing team leaders and team members in alignment with Department & Plant Goals, TOS Implementation/sustainment and all Quality Systems.
  • Assuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Compiling, sorting, and analyzing data (such as Warranty, APA, and DPU) in an effort to improve processes and direct effective problem solving.
  • Managing and supporting Quality Feedback Systems to ensure 1st Time Quality.
  • Monitoring and leading improvement efforts to meet respective Department Metric targets.
  • Providing assistance in assessing the acceptability of both parts and processes of suppliers.
  • Supporting department Training.
  • Maintaining training plans and records to ensure department flexibility and ISO compliance.
  • Conducting daily inspections of work areas to assure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Participating in regular communication and working with cross functional areas to ensure 1st Time Quality and Electrical Test Passes.
