About The Position

This is a Temp-to-Full-Time 2nd Shift Manufacturing Production Supervisor position located in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves supervising over 25 employees, leading daily production operations, and coordinating team activities. The supervisor will work closely with other supervisors and managers to ensure the safe and timely delivery of quality products, focusing on a 'Safety Always' culture and engaging employees in all opportunities. The position requires executing the daily production schedule, ensuring quality checks, leading the safety program, and managing various employee-related responsibilities such as training, performance, and contract administration. The supervisor will also be responsible for developing and implementing improvements in throughput, cycle time, and inventory reduction, and ensuring policy compliance.

Requirements

2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal communication skills in dealing with all levels of organization
Understanding of Lean Principles and Six Sigma application and usage
Mechanical ability, technical aptitude
Must pass background check and 10-panel drug test

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge of operations, processes, equipment, and products, preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Supervise 25+ employees and lead daily production operations and coordination activities of work teams.
Work closely with other Supervisors and Managers to provide resources, on-going work direction, decision making and problem solving to ensure the safe delivery of a quality product on time to the customer (internal and external).
Focus on the concept of Safety Always and engage and involve hourly employees at every opportunity.
Facilitate total team performance by active team engagement at the operation.
Execute the daily production schedule through the utilization of people, material, machine, and processes to meet customer requirements, schedule compliance, and cost objectives.
Assure appropriate quality checks and audits are performed by operators to provide product and process quality.
Lead safety program in area of responsibility through example and positive communication, employee involvement, and recognition, maintain a clean and orderly workplace utilizing 5S standards.
Responsible for employee job training, employee performance, wage and contract administration, employee discipline, policies and procedures, attendance and vacation schedules, labor reporting, inventory accuracy, etc.
Promote employee development through effective verbal and written communications, cross-training skills, and appropriate use of teams to support problem solving and continuous improvement.
Complete corrective actions report on major problems areas.
Establish and maintain visual factory control: 1) Kanban 2) JIT 3) Standard Work.
Develop and implement improvements in the areas of throughput, cycle time and inventory reduction.
Coordinate process problems that involve deviation from standard conditions.
Identify and support employee development and training needs.
Ensure policy compliance and apply fairly.
