About The Position

The Manufacturing Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing operations at our new Salt Lake City Electronics Manufacturing Facility. This role ensures that production output meets established quality standards, adheres to schedule commitments, and aligns with customer and organizational requirements. The Manufacturing Production Supervisor leads and develops a team of Electronics Technicians across multiple shifts, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. The position also plays a key role in cross-functional collaboration with Quality and Engineering to maintain a seamless flow of materials and finished goods. This individual works closely with production leads, supporting and guiding them in their leadership responsibilities on day-to-day operations with the operators, to ensure consistent execution of processes, team alignment, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Ability to work 100% on-site.
  • Ability to travel extensively to Los Angeles for training during the initial months of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day electronics manufacturing operations of the production shift, ensuring output and quality targets are met.
  • Monitor work-in-progress, material flow, and finished goods to maintain steady throughput and minimize downtime.
  • Mitigate material availability challenges by collaborating with Scheduling to maintain a high-utilization daily production plan.
  • Escalate critical output and quality risks to the Operations Manager to secure the necessary resources to resolve these issues.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to track and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), including individual and team performance, output levels, quality yields, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to assess production capacity, plan and schedule production tests, and support floor expansion initiatives.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Engineering to develop, implement, and enforce production procedures that meet quality and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 documentation requirements, including recordkeeping and audit preparedness.
  • Support customer audits by providing required documentation, production data, and demonstrating compliance practices.
  • Conduct onboarding with Production Leads and on training for new production staff and periodic refresher training to reinforce quality standards and process adherence.
  • Develop cross-training programs to build flexibility and versatility within the production team.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to improve technician performance, ensuring both technical proficiency and professional growth.
  • Partner with Engineering to evaluate production processes and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support scalability.
  • Participate in problem-solving initiatives to resolve process, quality, or equipment issues quickly and effectively.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging staff to contribute ideas and take ownership of process enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and production status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including shift reports, output tracking, and quality metrics.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and risks to schedule adherence.
  • Report regularly to operations management on production status, challenges, and corrective actions.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required to support organizational objectives and operational needs.
  • Support the Leads, mentoring Electronics Technicians across assigned shifts.
  • Assign work schedules, tasks, and priorities to ensure production continuity and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and career development guidance.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations, promoting a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating leadership, accountability, and a commitment to excellence in daily operations.
  • Oversee and participate in the interview and hiring process, including candidate evaluation, selection, and onboarding to ensure the recruitment of qualified and high-performing team members.
