About The Position

Kennametal is seeking a Manufacturing Production Scheduler to work in Asheboro, North Carolina, within the Planning Department. The role is responsible for demand and supply planning for specific value streams and maintaining monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes in alignment with corporate strategic initiatives. It also supports daily and weekly tactical planning, including analysis of fill rates, inventory investments, and forecast deviations.

The scheduler coordinates with suppliers, supervisors, production, and materials management to support timely material deliveries and production schedules. The role maintains planning-related records and material data in SAP, monitors material status and delivery dates, and schedules machines to support productivity and customer demand.

Requirements

• Knowledge of SAP Materials Module.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to understand oral and written communications and instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
• At least 5–7 years of experience in a related position.

Nice To Haves

• Four-year secondary degree or equivalent experience in a planning materials function or role.

Responsibilities

• Deal directly with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries and proactively expedite materials to meet project schedules.
• Confer with supervisors to determine overdue project materials, provide product status updates, and respond to delivery queries.
• Generate open purchase order reports and partner with the Materials Manager to resolve supplier invoice and credit issues.
• Maintain Engineering Change Notice revisions in SAP according to standard operating procedures.
• Regularly update and correct Material Master status to keep safety stocks accurate.
• Identify critical paths for materials and establish contingency plans to maintain project deadlines.
• Track material delivery dates and follow up with production as required.
• Schedule machines to optimize productivity and meet customer demand.

• Support daily and weekly tactical planning activities, including analysis of fill rates, inventory investments, and forecast deviations.
