Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience with planning and scheduling in a low volume / high part number production environment.
  • 2 years in business environment preferred.
  • Has high proficiency with MS-Office products; working knowledge and proficiency with ERP / MRP systems; GD&T; print reading and interpretation.

Nice To Haves

  • American Planning Association (APA) certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses Bills of Material (BOM) and print specifications for their completion and design for manufacturability.
  • Work with Supply Chain Manager to review make / buy decisions as necessary.
  • Ensure proper information is stored in the correct location for shop personnel to access easily.
  • Develops models for capacity, given the variety and capabilities of various machining centers and other process equipment.
  • Support and process any adjustments or accommodations identified by the department managers.
  • Order material to best utilize shop resources as well as defining stock sizes for best processing.
  • You will break down fabrication and develop a strategy for manufacturing by ensuring parts /materials are ordered for best processing.
  • Support utilization efforts by routing repeat parts to the same work groups/ machines.
  • Schedule work to specific machines/machinists as well as fabricators to ensure parts are produced efficiently based off capabilities and skillset.
  • Monitors capacity utilization and provides short-term and long-term planning for optimum utilization and efficiency.
  • Monitors ‘Machine and Fabrication’ capacity and provides real-time information to the buyers and shop managers to facilitate decisions regarding in-house vs. outsourced detail manufacturing.
  • Communicates status of manufacturing and processing constraints.
  • Assists to define and coordinate resources in response to unplanned work initiated by the various Business Units, such that very short delivery times are satisfied.
  • Maintains and communicates detail delivery status reports (late vs. on-time details).
  • Ensures work order system is always current, and purged of any unnecessary orders, data, etc.
  • Maintains current and accurate Machine and Fabrication Shop metrics in the live dashboard.
