This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for world class manufacturing planners to apply standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing & production processes for the efficient/economical production of aerospace products. As part of a large, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will manufacture and assemble hardware on our premier launch vehicle, New Glenn. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of transforming the way our vehicles are made and integrated. Requirements

  • Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar: (0-3 years Level I Engineer, 3+ Level II Engineer, 5+ Level III Engineer, 8+ Sr Level Engineer).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures, including planning systems.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on experience with building flight hardware.
  • Associate degree or trade school in related discipline.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt & Lean Manufacturing Certification.
  • Experience with design, development or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites.
  • Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Creo or CATIA V5).
  • Customer focused with a proven track record to work cooperatively with teams of different skills across large geographic distances.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Translating engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
  • Train and support Mfg Engineers in the use of system tools to execute work orders including disposition of nonconformances, redlining work orders, revising BOM, BOM reconciliation, and GSE/Tooling maintenance and procurement.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for the creation and revision of manufacturing plans to ensure the required information and structure are provided for MRP systems.
  • Maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to reduce build time and improve safety and quality.
