About The Position
ABOUT THE TEAM The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for a wide range of activities that are crucial to the manufacturing process including operating equipment, assembling products, performing quality control checks, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. ABOUT THE JOB We believe that exceptional documentation is a cornerstone of successful product development. As a Process Planner, you will: Bridge Gaps: Work closely with users and cross-functional teams to identify documentation needs, identify gaps in understanding, and use documentation to close the gap Create Impactful Content: Craft clear and engaging materials that empower front-line decision makers with the best available information. Your work will directly support national security efforts and empower our internal customers with precise and user-friendly information about Anduril systems. Shape the Future: Set the tone and quality for all written artifacts and build world-class infrastructure for scalable documentation. Our belief is that documentation is a key part of the product development process. As a Process Planner, you will work closely with users to understand how they use our products, identify gaps in understanding, and use documentation to close the gap. You will be play a foundational role in setting the tone and quality bar on written artifacts and tooling for creating and maintaining our documentation content at scale. Due to the nature of the work, this role is required to be onsite out of our Santa Ana, CA warehouse.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in process planning or technical writing
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics
- CAD familiarity, ability to navigate 3D models
- Experience creating visual instructions
- A passion for excellent documentation and user experiences
- Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication skills, for a variety of audiences
- The ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, managing competing demands and occasional tight deadlines
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
Nice To Haves
- Experience using, evaluating, and implementing modern software and automation tools to help manage high volume technical writing requirements
- Experience in Manufacturing environments including writing work instructions, process diagrams, redlines, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Create clear and concise work instructions for the technician workforce at Anduril to execute as they create the next generation of defense systems.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations to create planning, addressing everything from off nominal scope to new design changes and implementations.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with engineering, product management, and business stakeholders throughout all phases of product development—need-finding, execution, field testing, and validation.
- Increase Clarity and Accuracy: Constantly work to improve the planning that our skilled labor consumes and help us produce higher quality hardware
- Develop new Processes: Work with engineers to develop, capture, and refine new tools, processes, techniques, and capabilities as a part of the production organization.
- Produce Comprehensive Documentation: Create user guides, release notes, and troubleshooting guides that are informative and engaging.
- Enhance Our Toolkit: Contribute to developing style guides, streamlining the documentation lifecycle, and refining the review process.
