Join the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI)! We are seeking qualified candidates to apply for our Manufacturing Process Engineer opening. This position is located at the Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC) – Dayton, OH at the University of Dayton Research Institute. It provides process engineering support for aircraft and vehicle sustainment technology development and transition including vehicle maintenance, aircraft maintenance and ground support equipment. Under the leadership of a technical leader, this role will manage the overall manufacturing process at the Dayton ATTC, evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, and work with manufacturing team leads and operators to assist in existing processes. The role involves creating process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates, executing Lean Projects on the process to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and ensuring operations comply with safety and quality standards. Additionally, the position will manage maintenance and preventative maintenance of all equipment within the process, develop standardized operating instructions (TO’s, standard forms, procedures, routers, lessons learned and all other procedures pertaining to operations), and develop and manage training packages for each role within the process. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will provide training and reoccurring training to each associate within the manufacturing process, be the primary contact and resource for completion of materials testing jobs flowing through the ATTC, and perform technical scouting and evaluation for next generation processes to resolve customer problem statements.
