About The Position
The Gund Company, a 30% employee-owned manufacturing leader, is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer who enjoys improving processes, working closely with production teams, and driving measurable results. This role is focused on driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations using Lean and CI tools, collaborating with various departments, and improving process efficiency, reducing variation, cost, and cycle time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing process improvement or Kaizen experience
- Knowledge of Lean tools (8D, DMAIC, A3, 5 Why)
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC equipment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally
- Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR compliance
Nice To Haves
- Wood, composites, or materials manufacturing experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations using Lean and CI tools
- Conduct Gemba walks and collaborate with Production, Quality, Sales, and HR teams
- Improve process efficiency, reduce variation, cost, and cycle time
- Lead process standardization, documentation, and operator training
- Support equipment installation, process optimization, and new product/process transfers
- Analyze nonconformances (NCMs), CARs, rework, and OTD metrics to implement preventive actions
