About The Position

P&G is the largest consumer packaged goods company in the world, with operations in over 75 countries and 65 trusted brands. Our Auburn, Maine Plant is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join the team. This role will support needs across multiple operating departments, contributing to the overall expansion, maintenance, and step-change manufacturing capability of the site. Successful candidates will break down technical barriers, guide project teams through innovation projects, and bring new capacity to the site. The Auburn plant, founded in 1968, manufactures the majority of P&G's tampon products for worldwide distribution and has almost 600 full-time employees. The plant operates under core values of safety, quality, and trust in people and systems. P&G's flexibility, technical mastery, and agility contribute to stability and long-term success. This role is onsite Monday through Friday, with typical days starting at 7 am. Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering (all sub-disciplines welcome), operations management, a related technical degree, or relevant military experience.
  • 0 - 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Interest in manufacturing, leadership development, & onsite work.
  • Desire to work with a tight knit, collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel on the job on occasion (not expected to be more than 10% of the time).
  • Willingness to relocate during your career (every 2-5 years is typical).

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, analyze, and eliminate losses and inefficiencies.
  • Manage the delivery and start-up of new equipment, initiatives, and projects.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, other functions, and other manufacturing sites to create optimal solutions.
  • Create learning programs and coach and train technicians.
  • Create and improve standards to achieve production line performance targets.
  • Understand and work with state-of-the-art robotics and automated equipment.
  • Eliminate Losses via continuous improvement cycle.
  • Become qualified in Lean Manufacturing loss elimination tools.
  • Conduct thorough assessments via reliability analysis, touch mapping, and weekly Hoshin.
  • Propose and implement solutions that streamline processes, eliminate failures, and reduce manual intervention.
  • Complete the onboarding process within six months and demonstrate learning progress through successful completion of one Loss Elimination project.
  • Be part of the line leadership triad group and support the continuous improvement cycle for the line, including owning one daily management system.
  • Facilitate the integration of new digital tools and technologies within the organization.
  • Provide training and support to team members on the effective use of digital solutions.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of digital systems and processes.
  • Participate in the yearly loss analysis process, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define solutions that drive Net Sales (NS) and enhance overall operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices in operations.
  • Participate in a site pillar network.
