About The Position

The Manufacturing Process Engineer works closely with engineering teams to deliver high-performance solutions using Epson SCARA robots and vision systems, with a focus on new installations and day-to-day production support. The role supports internal and external manufacturing customers through product development and lifecycle management, continuous improvement and VA/VE projects, product and process flow improvements, project management, and corrective and preventive actions. It provides technical troubleshooting support for converting equipment and process issues involving materials, tooling, and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and communicates production and maintenance needs to appropriate departments. The engineer designs, develops, and implements advanced controls for automated equipment and industrial processes; leads integration and optimization of vision-guided pick-and-place operations; configures vision systems; and troubleshoots robotic, vision, and control systems. The position also evaluates manufacturing equipment and processes, identifies and implements quality and process improvements, supports new product launches and lean initiatives, assists with root-cause investigations and corrective actions, and leads assigned process engineering and capital expenditure projects. The role is based on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and requires extended time on the production floor.
