About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Leading and contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives that deliver measurable, step‑change improvements in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Operational Efficiency Monitoring productivity and cost performance, and initiating improvement projects as needed Providing daily production support withing your assigned area Understanding key customer requirements and ensuring processes consistently meet capability expectations Applying technical expertise to support site and departmental needs, including special projects Communicating project progress, implementation status and cost impacts to plant management and supervision Enhancing your technical skillset by developing a strong network across the New Ulm plant and the broader 3M organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Prior experience working within a manufacturing or process engineering environment
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Leading and contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives that deliver measurable, step‑change improvements in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Operational Efficiency
  • Monitoring productivity and cost performance, and initiating improvement projects as needed
  • Providing daily production support withing your assigned area
  • Understanding key customer requirements and ensuring processes consistently meet capability expectations
  • Applying technical expertise to support site and departmental needs, including special projects
  • Communicating project progress, implementation status and cost impacts to plant management and supervision
  • Enhancing your technical skillset by developing a strong network across the New Ulm plant and the broader 3M organization
  • Complying with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties.
  • Contributing to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
