About The Position

The Manufacturing Process Engineer plans, implements, and maintains stable, capable production processes that support product and process quality and throughput, while monitoring and resolving issues on assembly and manufacturing lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
  • 2 years of manufacturing or design experience (internship/co-op included)
  • Strong computer skills- must be proficient in MS Office, SPC, DoE, Minitab and understanding of basics of auto parts manufacturing
  • Knowledgeable in areas of CNC Turning Machine Programs, Mistake Proofing and Problem-Solving Techniques, SPC, specific software on the production equipment.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D design for the purpose of creating drawings.
  • Must be self-directed and be willing to work any shift.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now AND in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing process engineering activities for new product launches, including APQP, PPAP, tooling, fixtures, measurement systems, automation, and production readiness.
  • Plan, install, and optimize manufacturing cells, equipment, CNC programs, gage programs, and production processes to improve quality, productivity, cycle time, and overall equipment performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve process documentation, including Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Maps, Standard Work Instructions, and technical standards.
  • Conduct quality and process improvement initiatives through capability studies, Gage R&R (MSA), SPC analysis, audits, PDCA methodologies, and corrective action processes such as 8D investigations.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing, equipment, and quality issues, including non-conforming products, customer complaints, audit findings, and process deviations.
  • Manage tooling, fixtures, gauges, spare parts, and inventory while supporting cost reduction, energy efficiency, and supplier sourcing initiatives.
  • Train and support production, maintenance, leadership teams, and new employees on manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Design Engineering, Supplier Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Planning, and OEM customers to drive continuous improvement and achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
